Celebrity Cruises to Bring 'Four Stars' Back to Europe

Four award-winning Celebrity ships to ply the waters again in 2008

MIAMI, March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Even before its 2007 season in Europe begins, Celebrity Cruises has announced plans to return to the region in 2008 with four ships consistently rated among the "world's best."

"Celebrity's European sailings have sparked increasing demand year-over-year, and we're thrilled to respond by returning with four of our award-winning large ships, while also deploying Celebrity Expeditions' new Celebrity Quest in the more exotic, remote locations in the region," said Celebrity President Dan Hanrahan. "On every Celebrity ship, the combination of impeccable service and state-of-the-art amenities, with the rich history, culture and natural beauty of Europe, is simply unparalleled."

Bookings opened today for Celebrity's 2008 European season on Celebrity Century, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Galaxy, and Celebrity Summit.

Celebrity's European Itinerary Highlights 2008

  • Celebrity Century on April 28, 2008, will depart Miami, Fla., on a 14-night transatlantic voyage to Amsterdam, where the ship will present round-trip, 12-night Scotland and Ireland sailings, a series of 12-night Scandinavia and Russia cruises, an Arctic Circle and North Cape voyage, and a 10-night Ireland and Norwegian Fjords cruise, before repositioning to Barcelona to cap the season with a series of Western Mediterranean and Morocco sailings. Celebrity Century departs Barcelona December 1 on a 14-night transatlantic voyage to Miami, where the ship will resume round-trip Caribbean sailings.
  • Celebrity Constellation crosses the Atlantic on April 11, 2008, departing Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on a 13-night voyage to Harwich, England, a new port of embarkation for Celebrity. There, Celebrity Constellation will present a round-trip, nine-night Scotland and Ireland cruise before launching a series of 14-night, round-trip Scandinavia and Russia cruises. Celebrity Constellation's 2008 season in Europe concludes with a transatlantic voyage departing Barcelona September 8, featuring visits to Morocco, Spain, Portugal, the Azores and Newfoundland, and concluding in Cape Liberty, New Jersey, where the ship resumes Canada and New England sailings.
  • Celebrity Galaxy presents a series of 10- and 11-night sailings from May to December, round-trip from Rome, each featuring an overnight stay in Istanbul, Turkey. Celebrity Galaxy concludes its European season in 2008 with a 14-night transatlantic voyage from Barcelona, highlighted by visits to the exotic Moroccan ports of Casablanca, Tangier and Agadir, along with Lanzarote, Tenerife, and Santa Cruz, Canary Islands, ending in Miami, Fla.
  • Celebrity Summit opens the European season on April 29, 2008, with a 12-night "Best of Europe" cruise from Southampton, England, to Barcelona, Spain, highlighted by Celebrity's first calls on Gijon, Spain, a coastal community rich with culture and located between two beaches. Celebrity Summit then presents a series of 12-night Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona and Venice, featuring overnight stays in Venice. The ship's 2008 Mediterranean season concludes with a series of 14-night voyages featuring overnight stays in three stunning locations: Venice; Ephesus (Kusadasi) and Istanbul, Turkey; and Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy. Celebrity Summit sets sail on a 14-night transatlantic crossing departing Barcelona on November 29.
